Shagane’s approach
Shagane’s interventions are based on strong convictions derived from experience on how to deliver lasting change:
- There is a genuine desire to change and an openness to challenge current habits and practices.
- The direction of travel is decided by the person or team, not imposed from outside.
- The new habits or practices are explored, experimented, and customised based on such experience.
- The latter requires a secure learning environment which allows to explore, try, fail and learn.
- Learning is deeper and faster when applied on real, tangible situations.
Shagane’s interventions are therefore coaching-based or coaching-inspired, as coaching by definition is human-centered and aligned to above principles.
A discovery and change journey
A first observation round of current practices and desired changes is conducted. For a team, this can be based on interviews and/or a questionnaire.
This observation round by itself leads to a heightened level of awareness and contributes greatly to define the desired changes.
The journey usually includes the identification of limiting beliefs, unconscious or unspoken expectations and automatisms. Becoming conscious of them allows to untie them and liberate you or your team.s from their constraints.
These insights enable you to (re-)start choosing consciously the leadership and management practices you want to adopt, in particular human-centered practices.
These practices are explored, tested, experimented in a secure learning environment, with the purpose to both adapt them to your context as well as to firmly anchor them.
As much as possible learning happens using real busines issues as use cases
What you will achieve :
- What you will achieve ultimately remains in your hands,
- You will be better aware of the limiting beliefs or automatisms that hamper your development,
- You will open your eyes for new ideas, options or solutions, while letting your creativity blossom,
- You will sense what works for you and what doesn’t. You will learn to better listen to yourself,
- You will strengthen your resilience by better appreciating and reacting to your own emotions and
- You will identify and embrace clear and achievable steps towards your aspired change or objective.
In a nutshell
Before a coaching journey starts, we take the time to clarify what coaching is all about. We will check if our approach is the right one for you as an individual or as a team, and we will discuss the conditions for success in terms of commitment, time, etc. This conversation will allow you to feel the rapport with the coach, and to discuss practical details (place, frequency, setting).
The sequence of a coaching journey starts with defining the objective of the programme, followed by the coaching sessions. Along the sessions, we take the time to take a step back to assess progress made. Throughout the programme, and especially towards the end, we evaluate and summarise the key learning points to anchor them for the future.
